Tarantula - C. minax Thailand Black - GNG - Unsexed

Cyriopagopus minax, commonly known as the Thailand Black Tarantula, is a striking and robust species prized by experienced keepers. Thailand Blacks thrive in warm, humid conditions with temperatures between 74–82°F and humidity around 70–80%. Provide a terrestrial enclosure with at least 4–6 inches of substrate for burrowing, as this species is naturally fossorial. A hide or cork bark shelter encourages natural behavior and reduces stress. **Housing & Environment** Use a 5–10 gallon enclosure depending on size. Maintain good ventilation to prevent mold while preserving humidity. Provide a water dish and refresh it regularly.  Feed appropriately-sized insects—crickets, roaches—every 7–10 days for juveniles, less frequently for adults. This species grows steadily and can reach a leg span of 5–6 inches at maturity. Thailand Blacks are generally docile but can be defensive when threatened. Handling is not recommended. Females typically live 12–15 years; males 3–4 years.
