Porcellio bolivari, commonly known as Yellow Ghosts, are striking isopods prized for their pale coloration and impressive size. These large-sized terrestrial crustaceans thrive in warm, humid environments with temperatures between 75–85°F and moderate moisture levels. Provide a substrate mix of coconut husk, sphagnum moss, and leaf litter with hiding spots like cork bark or egg crates. Critical is to keep the enclosure 60-70% of the enclosure very dry, and no more than 30-40% of the enclosure damp. Feed a varied diet of fresh vegetables, dried leaves, and protein sources such as specialized isopod foods. Yellow Ghosts are temperamental breeders and do not make great cleanup crew members for bioactive terrariums due to their humidity sensitivity. Ideal for experienced keepers, they're visually captivating additions to any collection.
