Dairy cow isopods, scientifically named Porcellio laevis 'Dairy Cow' are a popular, easy-to-care-for invertebrates with a black-and-white speckled appearance. They are excellent "clean-up crews" in bioactive terrariums due to their large size and rapid breeding, making them a great choice for beginners. They require a substrate of organic compost or topsoil, decaying wood and leaves for food, and a moisture gradient with one end of their enclosure kept moist.
