Panther Chameleons are striking, color-changing reptiles native to Madagascar, prized for their vibrant hues. Males display brilliant reds, blues, and greens, while females show more muted patterns.
Care Essentials: Panther Chameleons require tall, well-ventilated enclosures (minimum 24"x18"x36"), tropical UVB lighting on a 12-hour cycle, and temperatures between 75–85°F with proper humidity (50–70%). They are solitary, arboreal hunters that feed on appropriately-sized insects—crickets, mealworms, and dubia are rotational staples. Calcium and vitamin supplementation is critical for bone health and preventing metabolic disease.
Temperament & Lifespan: These chameleons are generally docile but stress-sensitive; handling should be minimal and purposeful. Males live 5–7 years with optimal care. They're best suited for experienced keepers who can commit to precise environmental control and consistent feeding schedules.
