The Lasiocyano sazimai, commonly known as the Brazilian Blue Violet Tarantula, is a stunning New World species prized for its striking blue-violet coloration and manageable temperament. This medium-sized tarantula makes an excellent choice for both experienced keepers and dedicated hobbyists. Care Requirements: House in a terrestrial enclosure of at least 5 gallons with substrate—coconut husk or peat moss work well. Maintain temperatures between 70–80°F with moderate humidity around 60–70%. Provide a hide or burrow for security. Feed appropriately sized insects (crickets, roaches) every 7–10 days; juveniles may eat more frequently. Ensure fresh water via a water dish or regular misting. Temperament & Handling: Generally docile and slow-moving, though they can be defensive if threatened. Urticating hairs may cause irritation—handle with care or observe without handling. Females live 12–15 years; males typically 3–6 years. Perfect for building a diverse collection or as a centerpiece display animal.
